Free Pattern Friday – Winter Spice

It may still be winter in most of the country, but here in Florida… it’s a spring day.  I have to admit, I don’t miss those cold, snowy, windy, wintery days. In honor of winter, today’s free pattern is Winter Spice. I created this pattern a few years ago for Hoffman Fabrics. It may look complicated, but it’s easy-peasy and makes a great weekend project. Large-scale prints are used in the block centers and outer border, with a wonderful stripe in the sashing. The quilt would be equally beautiful in brightly colored prints or you could make all the blocks scrappy. Just remember to use light, medium, and dark-value fabrics so the design will pop!

I hope you’ll join me for the first ever
100 Blocks Event: Quiltmaker’s Block Party,
August 2–4 in Williamsburg.

I’ll be teaching three classes…

 Chocolate Caramel Stars

Cornflower Wall Hanging

And this darling Posy Patch table runner

The Block Party is going to be a lot of fun, so make plans to attend and sign up for classes NOW… while there is still space available.

Have a great weekend…
