I’m so excited that my block appears in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, volume 9! And, I’m tickled pink it’s on the cover! Woo Hoo!
So, which block on the cover is mine? Spring Tulips is upper-right corner. Inside the issue it’s on page 29.
My inspiration for Spring Tulips was a quilt from the 1930s that I have owned for many years. The quilt is not in very good shape, but I love the quirky appliqué shapes. Someone spent a lot of time hand appliquéing and hand quilting this lovely quilt. And, I’m happy to give it a new home.
I’ve always love creating and playing with blocks. It’s fun seeing how they will look in different settings and fabrics. And Electric Quilt (EQ7) makes it oh-so-easy! The first version is a tradition setting with pieced sashing.
Next, I changed the pieced sashing to plain strips and added red and black fabrics. This version would make a great Christmas quilt.
And last, but not least, I added my Round and Round block from 100 Blocks, volume 5. I also changed the color palette to blue and yellow. Yowser!
